KS1 Banham Zoo Trip

08 Nov

KS1 had their first trip to Banham Zoo! Our topic for the term has been ‘On Safari’. This trip provided children with the opportunity to see all types of animals, we focused on animals that live in Africa. Some of the animals we saw were zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, meerkats, monkeys and penguins.

Each class visited the education centre, we explored the different habitats and animals. Children had excellent discussions throughout and got to feel snake skin, lizard skin, a hippopotamus tooth and monkey fur. Children also had the chance to hold a Madagascar hissing cockroach and an African snail and could stroke the python snake.

KS1 had a great day and learnt lots of facts, this was a superb way to end our topic!
